Bushfire Disaster Relief

It has been devastating to follow all the devastation of the bushfires around Australia this Spring and Summer, particularly as a climate change activist who has been calling loudly for our earth to be cared for for many, many years now.

I was delighted to come across the Wellness Advocates Natural Disaster Support (WANDS) Group, who have been proactively putting together thousands of emergency kits for those affected, with much needed toiletries and sanitary items, as well as some essential oils to help at this time and some nice little extras like some tea bags and a hand written note of support.

I donated 2 boxes of items for a local WANDS emergency kit busy bee – during which over 2,600 kits were made! Sharing this, others have generously collected more items, and I’ve now passed on an additional box of items for the next kit making session.

doTERRA have been tremendous with their support as well, donating $100,000 in products to WANDS. A video has been posted on their website about the packing days which took place in the first week in January 2020.

I’ve also made a financial donation to one of the Bushfire Appeals organised by Rotary, as 100% of the money raised by Rotary goes to the recipients; nothing is creamed off for administration. If you would like to make a financial contribution to help those affected by bushfires, I highly recommend making a tax-deductible donation through Rotary, to maximise the benefit of your funds.
