Me in December 2013.
So let me back up and give you some background. I’m currently 36 years old, and when my marriage ended just over a year ago, I was the heaviest I’d even been (aside from pregnancy) at 96kg. I’ve had issues with my weight since I was 18, all with emotional roots. The ending of my marriage meant I’ve slowly been working on healing those emotional issues (I highly recommend healing sessions with Melanie Robinson and Lisa Brandis, plus Sound Therapy, flower essences, and the books of Neale Donald Walsch, especially “When Everything Changes, Change Everything”.). Working on the emotional issues meant I was able to start losing weight – 12 kg so far – even with additional emotional upheavals with my brother passing away. (The photo is from December 2013, at 85kg).
So 2014 for me is a continuation of that existing journey to return to optimal health physically and emotionally, but with renewed focus. I’ve decided to pick a focus for each month, building up with baby steps to ensure I stay on this journey rather than quit from burning out.
For January, I’m focusing on cleansing: my body and my physical environment. I’ve started a 2 week “liquid feast” cleanse outlined in “The pH Miracle”. Once that finishes, I will continue a vegan, alkaline diet. As part of the cleanse, I have added in some exercise into my daily routine.
I’ve also set myself a goal of finishing decluttering my home this month. While some areas have been decluttered and organised over the past 6 months, I plan to finish the areas I have been putting off (such as my shed, which I finally tackled on January 1st) to both give a more relaxed atmosphere and improve the flow of new things.
